Lately...

This month is just flying by!! I am happy to say that on Saturday, December 19, 2009 I will be a college graduate!! I am so excited to be finally done with school. Also, I went to my dr appointment last Thursday and Dr. Logan said that everything looks great! Mom, Emily and Tripp went with me so they could hear sweet baby's heartbeat (144-146 bmp)! It was music to my ears- very peaceful!! They drew some labs to check for Downs syndrome and other things, but I am at peace with it. We should find out he results tommorrow. In other news, I have one Christmas gift so far! I have got to get busy! Until next time... I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas Season!!

Merry Christmas!!

What I'm Thankful for!!!!!!

This year I am thankful for many things some of them are......

My God- I am thankful that I have the freedom to worship the Almighty God. I am thankful that He gave Josh and me and precious baby to love. I am thankful for his listening ear and undying love for all of us.

My Husband- He is a providing, hard working, and loving man that is going to make a great Daddy to our baby!!

My Unborn Baby- I am thankful for this sweet baby that we know nothing about yet. I cannot wait to be a Mom and show this baby the love my parents have shown me.

My Parents- I am thankful for my parents who have provided for me, loved me, stood behind me, listened to me, and is there on matter what. They taught me that blood is thicker than water.

My Sister- I am thankful for my sister eventhough, we might not always see eye-to-eye but we do have fun. I know without a doubt that she has my back.

My Brother- I am thankful for my brother who is one of the most kindest, gentle, loving, young man I know.

My Family- Who shows support and loves me.

I hope everyone has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and think about what you are thankful for!!

Introducing.....

I am so excited to share some great news! Josh and I are going to have a baby!! I thought I was only 5-6 week turns out at my first OB appointment we found out I am 11 weeks and 2 days today!!!! We had been trying for a while and my doctor put me on Chlomid because I was not ovulating. The doctor was monitoring my levels and decided my levels were not getting high enough. We made an appointment for December 21st with the ART Program in Birmingham. Well at my doctor's appointment yesterday we got to see our sweet angel. We went back and looked at the charts and figured out that my FSH level was so low because I was already pregnant and my brain was not longer telling my body to ovulate! Crazy!! We are beyond excited and cannot wait until June to meet "Baby Powell." I go back to the doctor December the 10th until then....

This and That

It has been quite a few weeks since my last post. This has been a busy past few weeks. My newphew KB celebrated his 1st birthday. We had a BBQ in his honor and had a wonderful time.

Sunday, June 14 lightning struck two trees in my yard. It also got the landscaping lights. I did not think about checking my car because Josh's Sheriff's truck was fine and closer to the tree and his personal truck was fine too. Little did I know!!! I woke up Monday morning extra early to study a little more for my Literacy test and get to school early. My car would not crank.... long story short... EVERYTHING electric was fried!!! I could not believe it!! Needless to say I just got my car back this past Friday!!

Both of them will have to be cut down which is going to be big project!!

This has been a fun but busy summer! Sorry this is so long --

Happy 3rd Anniversary!!

Josh and I celebrated our third anniversary yesterday. I am taking a summer class at AUM. I am taking Literacy and it is Monday thru Thursday 8:00-1:00!! So i had class yesterday :(!! We had planned to go out to eat in Troy to celebrate 3 years. Josh had been home all day and to my surprise had cleaned out the dishwasher and refilled it. He had picked up the den and kitchen! I am so glad I have a thoughtful and (usually) understanding husband. We went and got ice cream too-- so yummy!! We definetly have had our ups and downs, but overall we are building our lives together and hope that we have many more anniversaries together!

WILLIAM AND JESSICA'S ENGAGEMENT PARTY

On Friday, we began decorating for William and Jessica's engagement party at Conecuh Station. William is my first cousin and will be getting married August 1, 2009!! Emily, Mom, Ms. Cindy, and I decorated the Field House with burlap, votive candles, floating candles with pink and green flower petals, and tealight candles. It had a very rustic feel to it. The party began Saturday at 7:00 and some people didn't show up until 8:00. For dinner we had B-B-Q, potato salad (that I didn't eat!!), cole slaw, baked beans (the more you eat them the more you know what!), and a wonderful sour cream pound cake with cream cheese icing made by Mrs. Vicki Kyser.

The Common Ground Band played and we had so much fun dancing! Tripp has lots of practice for his graduation dance/party!

Here are some more pictures for your enjoyment!

Happy Mother's Day Mom

To my mom,

Mom,
I would like to thank you for all that you have done not only for me, but for the whole family. You are the glue that holds us all together. When ever I have a problem you are there to help me find a solution. We have had many laughs and tears together. You have been there to hold my and and pray with me through it all. I hope that as I get older and have children of my own I can be a MOM just like you. You are truly a Godly woman that I look up to.
Love you,
Ash

P.S. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!!

Kids and their comments!

If you do not know I am currently doing my practicum at the AUM Early Childhood Center (ECC). The kids are so much fun and always have something funny to say. There is this one little boy at the ECC that has really started coming out of his shell. We will call him JW. Well JW was at my center this past week and we were talking about golf. I had drawn a picture of a person playing golf and had it there for the children in case one of them wanted to draw a picture like that. Well JW looked up at me with a serious look and said "Ms. Ashley how old are you?" I said, " I am 22." " He said well that picture is great for a 22 year old." I wanted to laugh so hard! I went and wrote that comment down -- so I could remember exactly what he said! Then he finished with his work and went on to another center. Before long JW was back at my center asking me "Ms. Ashley do you know what the computer says?" I was kind of scared to ask, but I said "What does the computer say?" JW says, " You've got mail!!!!" "But I do not ever have any!" I just laughed and he thought he was so funny! He is a cute kid! I really love the kids at the ECC!!! Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!!!

Easter Fun!!

Yesterday and Today were filled with Family Easter activities!! Yesterday we went over to Josh's parents house to eat lunch, and hide eggs for Kaylee our niece. It was so much fun watching her pick the eggs up and put them in her basket. The baby (K B) is too little to hunt eggs just yet we will have to wait until next year. Today was a fun day! I went to my parents house and to my grandparents house for lunch. The Easter Bunny brought me some candy, a new sunflower rug, and soem dish towels!! I enjoyed hanging out with my crazy yet fun family, especially at lunch!! Overall it has been a great weekend -- just went by entirely too fast!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Hope you enjoy!
